Nick Carter sobs during tribute to Aaron during Backstreet Boys concert

Nick Carter sobbed while honoring his late brother, Aaron Carter, during Sunday’s Backstreet Boys concert.

Midway through the group’s show in London, Kevin Richardson got serious talking about Aaron’s sudden death on Saturday at age 34. He said during the group’s 29 years together, they had experienced “highs and lows” and currently had “heavy hearts” after losing “one of our family members,” Nick’s “little brother.” He was their little brother too, they said, as Aaron launched his solo singing career in the ’90s — at age 9 — opening for the boy band.

While Richardson spoke of their plan to recognize the “I Want Candy” and “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” singer during the show, the other band members — AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell — hugged Nick, who was openly sobbing on the stage. They went on to sing their hit “No Place,” which is about family. Photos of Aaron and Nick flashed on the screen during the emotional performance.

Some of the photos were used in the social media tribute Nick posted after Aaron was found dead in his L.A. home on Saturday morning. Nick, who was estranged from his sibling, reflected in his post about their “complicated relationship” due to Aaron’s addiction and mental illness. Through the years, Aaron revealed he had been diagnosed withschizophrenia, multiple personality disorder an anxiety, and he had addictions to prescription drugs and huffing. In a final interview, Aaron claimed he was 5 years sober, but smoked marijuana and took Xanax “legally.

Angel Carter Conrad, Aaron’s twin sister, also posted a tribute to him with old photos of them as babies and toddlers.

“To my twin… I loved you beyond measure,” she wrote to her sibling, from whom she was also estranged. “You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them. I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again.”

Taylor Swift Adds More Dates to 2023 ‘Eras’ U.S. Stadium Run

If you were bummed that your city wasn’t on the initial list of dates for Taylor Swift‘s massive 2022 Eras Tour, Friday morning (Nov. 4) brought some good news. After announcing earlier this week that she will embark on a 27-date U.S. tour that will celebrate all 10 of her studio albums released since 2006, the singer dropped another handful of stadium dates that adds eight more stops to what has already proven to be an out-of-the-box blockbuster run.

“UM. Looks like I’ll get to see more of your beautiful faces than previously expected… we’re adding 8 shows to the tour,” the singer tweeted on Friday morning.

The new stops include an April 14 gig at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, a May 5 stop at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, as well as gigs at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia (May 14), and gigs in Foxborough, MA, East Rutherford, NJ, Seattle, Santa Clara, CA and an Aug. 3 show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Swift hasn’t hit the road since 2018, when she launched her best-selling Reputation Tour. She had planned on performing again after the release of her 2019 record Lover in a concert series called Lover Fest, but canceled the shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For those keeping score at home, this means that Tay has six albums-worth of new material that she’s never played live — if you include the previously unreleased vault tracks on 2021’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). Studio albums Folklore, Evermore and, of course her latest, Midnights, which have all also been released in the time between Lover and the Eras Tour.

Check out the new dates and opening acts and Swift’s tweet containing all the dates below.

April 14 – Tampa, FL @ Raymond James Stadium (beabadoobee, Gracie Abrams)

May 5 – Nashville, TN @ Nissan Stadium (Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams)

Fans Created GoFundMe Pages To Get Kanye West Back To Billionaire Status — Here’s The Result

It hasn’t been long since Kanye West reportedly lost his billion-dollar status, and already some fans are going the extra mile to restore West’s net worth.

Billionaire status: As AfroTech previously reported, the Yeezy founder’s severed ties with adidas led his net worth to fall to $400 million, according to Forbes.

Yet, it appears some steadfast fans are looking to create a redemption arc for West, and are using GoFundMe pages to organize their efforts.

“Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again”

One page even made it clear that their goal was to “Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again,” according to Rolling Stone.

TMZ reports these efforts have been far from successful.

In fact, amongst the various pages that surfaced, none raised over $25, and on average most earned between $5 to $6.

GoFundMe has since taken action to remove these pages for breaching their terms of service as the money raised is required to be used for the details stated on the page. Additionally, they were taken down because West was not a beneficiary.

Although these efforts from users seem questionable, this isn’t the first time people have rallied behind West in the form of crowdfunding.

It is important to note: In 2016, West shared he was $53 million in debt on Twitter and was looking for Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg to step in by investing $1 billion to support his ideas.

“Mark Zuckerberg invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas … after realizing he is the greatest living artist and greatest artist of all time,” West wrote, according to E! Online.

“Get Kanye Out Of Debt”

Vibe reports, Jeremy Piatt was looking to save West from his financial turmoil. So, he created a GoFundMe campaign titled “Get Kanye Out Of Debt” which raised $57,398 of the $53 million goal.

The result: West did not accept the funds raised.

So, Piatt had to donate the money to the Notes for Notes charity organization.

“Mr. Kanye West’s camp has declined the funds raised by this GoFundMe campaign. We’re excited to announce that they will instead be directed toward an outstanding charitable organization, Notes for Notes. In lieu of funding Mr. West’s artistic vision, 100% of the funds will be headed to young aspiring musicians hoping to fulfill their dreams,” a statement on the page read, according to Vibe.
