When asked what she wants people to “understand” about the infamous tape in the upcoming interview, which is set to air on Sunday, she said, “That it was stolen property, that it was two crazy naked people in love.”
“I mean, we were naked all the time and filming each other and being silly, but those tapes were not meant for anybody else to see,” the actress added.
“And I’ve not seen it to this day,” Anderson said of the video, which was stolen from her and Lee’s home, along with the safe it was held inside, by a disgruntled former employee. “It was very hurtful.”
I was a mother. That saved me,” Anderson said of her two sons with Lee: Brandon, now 26, and Dylan, now 25. “You know, if I wasn’t a mom, I don’t think I would’ve survived.”
Elsewhere in the interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Anderson said she feels “like I’m in a really good place” from her home on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
“I feel like I’ve left here, did something crazy and came back in one piece,” Anderson said in the interview. “Like I said, I don’t know what I’m capable of. I still don’t know, but I think that was the beginning … all the rest of it, it’s, you know, behind me. I feel like I’m in a really good place.”
“I had to make a career out of the pieces left, but I’m not the damsel in distress,” she says, later adding with a laugh, “I put myself in crazy situations … and survived them.”
Anderson’s interview with Jim Axelrod for CBS Sunday Morning will air Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on CBS. It will also stream on Paramount+.
Pamela, a love story premieres Jan. 31 on Netflix.
Before wrapping up his TCA panel today for his FXX series Dave, rapper comedian Dave Burd aka Lil Dicky revealed the guest stars for season 3.
The lineup includes Usher, Rick Ross, Demi Lovato, Don Cheadle, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Killer Mike, and Travis Barker.
“That’s just a fraction and the fraction I haven’t named, will blow you away,” said Burd today at TCA.
Burd stars on the show and co-created the series with Jeff Schaffer.
Schaffer said “On Dave, People like playing funhouse versions of themselves or play with their public perception – a real plus for them. Everyone from Lin-Manuel Miranda playing a passive aggressive asshole. People want to come and have fun.”
As previously announced today, season 3 premieres April 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FXX and stream the next day on Hulu. The premiere will include the first two episodes and episodes will stream next day on Hulu. DAVE will be available on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories internationally.
Dave is headlining his first-ever tour, and looking for love along the way. But as he and the gang crisscross America, they discover firsthand how diverse the cultural landscape of the United States really is – and how often fame puts pressure on love and friendship.
On the show Burd stars as “Dave” (who is also EP, Writer); GaTa as “GaTa;” Andrew Santino as “Mike;” Taylor Misiak as “Ally;” Travis Bennett as “Elz” and Christine Ko as “Emma.”
Lisa Marie Presley has died after suffering a cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, Calif., on Thursday morning. The singer-songwriter, humanitarian, and only child of rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Elvis Presley was 20 days shy of her 55th birthday.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla, confirmed in a statement Thursday evening. “She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
According TMZ, who first broke the news of the heart attack, Lisa Marie was found unresponsive by her housekeeper on Thursday morning. Her ex-husband Danny Keough, with whom she lived, administered CPR until paramedics arrived. After her pulse was restored, she was taken to a nearby Intensive Care Unit and placed on life support, in an induced coma, with a temporary pacemaker. According to TMZ’s sources, Lisa Marie had complained of stomach pains earlier Thursday morning, and this was not a suicide attempt. Lisa Marie’s father and paternal grandmother also both died from heart attacks at young ages, respectively at 42 and 46.
Lisa Marie’s death occurred just two days after she and her mother attended the Golden Globes ceremony to support Austin Butler, who won the award for Best Actor in a Drama Film for his portrayal of her father in Elvis (Butler acknowledged Lisa Marie in his Globes acceptance speech, saying, “I love you forever”), and just four days after Elvis’s 88th birthday. Lisa celebrated her father’s birthday Sunday at a ceremony on the front lawn of her childhood home, Graceland, in Memphis, Tenn., telling fans attending the annual event: “This year has been an incredible year. The movie is incredible. I’m very proud of it, and I hope you are too.”
Lisa Marie Presley was born in Memphis on Feb. 1, 1968, exactly nine months after her parents’ wedding. She had a tough childhood, with her parents divorcing when she was age 4 and her father dying when she was 9. According to an interview that Lisa Marie granted to Playboy in 2003, Priscilla’s post-divorce boyfriend, actor Michael Edwards, sexually abused Lisa Marie for three years, starting when she was 12 years old. Lisa Marie was raised as a Scientologist, but according to various reports quietly left the Church some time between 2012 and 2014.
When Elvis Presley died in 1977, Lisa Marie became a joint heir to his estate, along with her grandfather and great-grandmother. At that point the estate was only worth a reported $5 million; however, Priscilla, a trustee in Elvis’s will, was able to build that fortune back up to an estimated $100 million by the time Lisa Marie solely inherited the estate on her 25th birthday in 1993. Lisa Marie was the owner and chairman of the board of the Elvis Presley Trust and its business entity, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., from 1998 until 2005, when she sold 85% of the estate, not including Graceland, to CKX, Inc.
In 2003, Lisa Marie launched her own rock music career, at the relatively late age of 35, with To Whom It May Concern. The album, which featured illustrious personnel like Billy Corgan, David Campbell, Jon Brion, Matt Chamberlain, Mike Elizondo, Abe Laboriel Jr., and Wendy Melvoin, went gold and peaked No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. It garnered mostly positive reviews, as did her next two albums: 2005’s Now What (which went to No. 9 and featured a cover of Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry,” a seeming jab at the tabloids’ constant scrutiny of her personal life) and 2012’s T Bone Burnett-produced Storm & Grace (whose track “So Long” was a seeming jab at the Church of Scientology).
However, Lisa Marie, who actually released several posthumous duets with her father (“Don’t Cry Daddy,” “In the Ghetto,” “Where No One Stands Alone”), was well aware that comparisons to Elvis were unavoidable. Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment in the Peacock Room at Graceland in 2013, she stressed, “I never tried to be [my father]. I’m my own [artist]. It’s kind of an ever-looming thing over me. Some people that differentiate it and go, ‘OK, I appreciate you for what you do’… and some people can’t get over it. My mom has always been concerned, similarly — she knew I had big shoes to fill, and she’s been concerned and worried, because I did grow up against a lot. Automatically, it happens. Thank God there are a lot of people out there that do see beyond it or see me for who I am, and I appreciate that.”
Also in her Yahoo Entertainment interview, Lisa Marie said she believed her father “would be really sensitive to and concerned over people comparing me to him… like, ‘You don’t sound like him!’ and ‘You’re not him!’ and all that kind of stuff. I know that he would be probably really protective and probably gearing me up to deal with that criticism, which is going to happen. I feel he would be really concerned about that, because that’s what I focus on with my children — like, ‘This is what you’re going to be up against.’”
Lisa Marie was married four times: to musician Danny Keough from 1988 to 1994, to pop superstar and childhood friend Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996, to actor Nicolas Cage from 2002 (although they separated after just three months), and to music producer Michael Lockwood from 2006 to 2021 (they separated in 2016). She had two children from her first marriage, actress/model daughter Riley Keough and son Benjamin Storm Keough, and two from her fourth, fraternal twin girls Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood. In July 2020, tragedy struck the Presley family yet again, when Benjamin died by suicide at age 27.
“It’s a real choice to keep going, one that I have to make every single day and one that is constantly challenging to say the least. … But I keep going for my girls,” Lisa Marie wrote for People in August last year, in honor of National Grief Awareness Day. “I keep going because my son made it very clear in his final moments that taking care of his little sisters and looking out for them were on the forefront of his concerns and his mind. He absolutely adored them and they him.”
There were a lot of questions leading up to Tuesday’s telecast, but thanks to appearances from Rihanna, Brad Pitt, Eddie Murphy and more, it’s safe to say the program cemented itself again as a starry stop on the awards show circuit.
Comedian Jerrod Carmichael hosted the revamped show, which was previously put on ice as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) grappled with an industry boycott amid its diversity scandal. Inside the ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, guests seemed eager to be back in person at the event in which stars like Steven Spielberg, Colin Farrell and Quinta Brunson won big. The elephant in the room was addressed early on thanks to Carmichael, paving the way for some of the industry’s biggest stars to gather again in January. Here are 10 things you didn’t see on TV:
Brad Pitt is a gracious loser
The night kicked off with Ke Huy Quan winning best supporting actor for his performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Quanhad no bigger fan in the audience than Pitt. The Oscar winner was one of the first stars on his feet cheering for Quan, who is now considered the heavy favorite to repeat at the Oscars.
Salma Hayek leads support for Angela Bassett
Bassett took home the trophy for supporting actress for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever andthe whole room erupted in applause. But it was Hayek who was out of her seat first and everyone soon followed suit, including an energetic Pitt, Margot Robbie and more.
Speaking of Brad Pitt, he was the MVP of the Globes
There was no bigger cheerleader for his peers than Pitt. The actor was one of the most high-energy stars in the ballroom, clapping furiously for winners throughout the night. When Austin Butler won for his role in Elvis, Pitt and Butler embraced on the way to the stage. It seemed Pitt’s support was recognized by Butler too, as he remarked: “I’m in this room full of my heroes. Brad, I love you.”

In a cover interview for W Magazine‘s first issue of 2023 — Volume 1, Best Performances — the 32-year-old Causeway actress admitted, “I would be starstruck if I saw Jessica Simpson. That would knock me over.”
For Lawrence, “The biggest celebrities in the world are, like, Pete Davidson,” she said. “Or when Ariana Grande was in my last film, Don’t Look Up, I was photographed with her and I fully look like a radio-contest winner.”
But, the Oscar winner admitted, she wasn’t up on the trends as a kid when it came to her room décor, as while her posters included one of Avril Lavigne, she also had one of dogs displayed not far away.
“I wasn’t cool,” Lawrence joked.
Elsewhere in her interview, Lawrence said one film that “always makes me cry” is Father of the Bride — but not during the scene some might assume.
“Not when they get married, but when he sees her as a little girl and she’s like, ‘Mommy, Daddy, I met a man in Rome and we’re getting married,’ ” the mother of one revealed, adding, “But I’m so sensitive now that I can barely watch anything with children or animals.”
Speaking about her new role in Causeway — as a military veteran recovering from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) she suffered when a vehicle was destroyed by a roadside bomb — Lawrence told W that she “spoke to a lot of ex-service members who suffered from TBIs and physician assistants, physical therapists and occupational therapists to learn how to move and to make sure we were telling the story as accurately as possible.”
“The whole process came with a lot of gratitude and humbling,” she explained of the research and preparation. “So much of acting is almost an exploitation of your own empathy.”
And Simpson, 42, is only the latest fellow celebrity Lawrence has admitted to being a big fan of. Another such example? Jonathan Goldsmith.
“Like everybody else in Hollywood, I was eating at Craig’s and a waiter came up to me and said, ‘Would you mind taking a picture with Miss Lawrence?’ ” explained the actor, 84.
“Well, this was not Gertrude Lawrence, it was Jennifer Lawrence. I went over to her table and she was very sweet. I met her friend and we took a couple pictures,” Goldsmith added.
Dr. Dre has made his feelings known about Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) using his song “Still D.R.E.” as the soundtrack for a new video in which she celebrates her part in helping get Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) finally elected as speaker of the House — and, not surprisingly, he didn’t mince words.
“I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one,” the superstar producer told TMZ Monday morning.
Greene’s self-promotional video immediately became the subject of derision when she posted it earlier Monday morning, with the political website Mediaite calling it “bizarre” and saying it “left many scratching their heads.” The video starts with slow-motion video of her triumphantly walking through the halls of Congress as the familiar opening chords of the D.R.E./Snoop Dogg classic kick in. The video eventually includes shots taken on the House floor of Greene appearing to text with “DT” — aka Donald Trump — in her attempts to influence Republican holdouts who were refusing to vote for McCarthy as a four-day stalemate continued.
“It’s time to begin.. and they can’t stop what’s coming,” Greene posted as the caption to the D.R.E.-soundtracked video montage.
Among the mockers was Republican gadfly Rick Wilson, who quote-tweeted Greene’s video with his own caption: “ChatGPT, show me an example of peak cringe.”
Even before Greene’s first triumphant appearance in the video, it begins with a shot of a sign bearing the words “There are two genders, male and female!,” a subject that Greene apparently considers germane to the fight for the speaker’s gavel. Much of the rest of the nearly two-minute video consists of slo-mo footage of the politician getting into elevators, riding elevators and getting out of elevators, all set to Dr. Dre’s suspenseful music. The video ends with a news announcer remarking upon how Greene rushed down to take a selfie with McCarthy following his victory speech, a selfie that “may have been his first act as speaker.”
“Still D.R.E.,” one of the most famous hip-hop songs of all time, was originally released in 1999 and returned to the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022 after it was used in the Super Bowl halftime show.
Fire Country is certainly burning bright at CBS: The drama has snagged a Season 2 pickup, midway through its freshman run.
Coming in hot, so to speak, Fire Country with its Oct. 7 debut delivered the largest audience (5.9 million total viewers) for any freshman series premiere this fall. Season-to-date, it boasts the largest audience of any freshman series (averaging 8 million weekly viewers with Live+7 playback), and it is also the highest-rated rookie (averaging a 0.7 demo rating).
“It’s pretty remarkable to see a new series resonate like this with both broadcast and streaming audiences right out of the gate,” CBS Entertainment’s recently installed new president, Amy Reisenbach, said in a statement. “Fire Country has so many appealing entry points for the audience. It combines high-stakes action with small town charm, mystery and romance, and a family franchise at its core. We’re blessed to have an incredible team in front of and behind the camera led by amazing producers and writers and an exceptionally talented cast.”
Currently airing Fridays at 9/8c, Fire Country stars SEAL Team alum Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, a young convict who, in pursuit of redemption and a shortened prison sentence, joined a firefighting program that returned him to his small Northern California hometown, where he and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish blazes in the region.
When last we tuned in, a car crash had left one vehicle half-on/half-off the side of a bridge, teetering with the driver and passenger siblings inside. With traffic impeding the arrival of further assistance, it was decided to carefully extricate the passenger from the car — after which Bode made the bold decision to clamber inside the vehicle and free/pull out the awakened driver.
But just as he helped Bode pull the driver out, all battalion chief Vince (Billy Burke) could do was watch as the car toppled off the bridge and into the river sorta-far below, with his son still inside.
In the clip above, see who swims to an unconscious, drowning Bode’s possible rescue in tonight’s winter premiere, all as an internal investigation into the car crash/rescue gets underway….
Meghan Markle may have held back on details about the much-sensationalized pre-wedding fight that she and Kate Middleton had over flower girl dresses during her Oprah interview, but Prince Harry is now filling in the blanks. Page Sixshared his personal recount of the situation from his forthcoming memoir Spare, which explains exactly why Meghan ended up in tears after having a conversation with Kate just four days before the couple’s wedding.
The dispute was over Kate’s daughter Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress fitting. The Daily Mail alleged that Harry wrote that Meghan said Kate, who had delivered Prince Louis just one month before the wedding, had “baby brain,” which contributed to what happened.
According to Page Six, Harry wrote that Kate texted Meghan the week of the wedding about there being a “problem” with Charlotte’s dress, made by then-Givenchy creative director Clare Waight Keller, who also created Meghan’s wedding dress.
The girls’ “French haute couture dresses [were] hand-sewn based solely on [the bridesmaids’] measurements,” Harry wrote, so the fact that they needed tweaks wasn’t exactly a surprise.
Meghan replied to Kate and told her to bring Charlotte to the palace where a tailor “was waiting to perform alterations for all six of the bridesmaids,” Page Six wrote that Harry shared. Harry claimed this response was “not sufficient” for Kate, who asked for time to talk with Meghan herself.
During their talk, Kate allegedly told Meghan that Charlotte’s dress was “too big, long and baggy,” and Charlotte “burst into tears when she tried it on.” Meghan repeated again that Kate should take Charlotte to the tailor in the palace. Kate then responded that all the bridesmaid dresses needed to be “completely remade,” and that she had consulted her own wedding dress designer, Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton, about it. The wedding was only four days away at this point.
Ultimately, Kate took Charlotte to the tailor, but the “altercation” she had with Meghan really hurt the bride-to-be, Harry wrote. He shared he found Meghan crying “on the floor” after. Like Meghan herself revealed earlier to Oprah, Kate apologized and brought flowers and a card to Meghan the next day.
In her 2021 Oprah interview, Meghan discussed how hard it was for her to see the tabloids twist this story into her making Kate cry. Meghan’s details are consistent with what Harry himself shared in his memoir, albeit purposely more vague to protect Kate’s privacy.
Meghan told Oprah: “The narrative with Kate, which didn’t happen, was really, really difficult and something that I think, that’s when everything changed, really.”
“No. [I didn’t make Kate cry],” she continued. “No, no, the reverse happened. And I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing and she did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone. To just take accountability for it.
“What was shocking was, what was that, six, seven months after our wedding, the reverse of that would be out in the world [the story suggesting Meghan made Kate cry]. I would’ve never wanted that to come out about her ever even though it had happened. I protected that from ever being out in the world. A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something pertaining—yes, the issue was correct about flower girl dresses, and it made me cry and it really hurt my feelings, and I thought in the context of everything else that was going on in those days leading to the wedding that it didn’t make sense to not be just doing what everyone else was doing, which was try to be supportive, knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot.
“There wasn’t a confrontation, and I actually think it’s…I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that because she apologized and I’ve forgiven her,” Meghan admitted. “What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn’t do but that happened to me and the people that were a part of my wedding going to my comms team, saying, ‘I know this didn’t happen. I don’t have to tell them what actually happened, but I can at least go on the record saying she didn’t make her cry.’” Everyone in the institution knew it wasn’t true. I’m not sharing that piece about Kate in any way to be disparaging to her. I think it’s really important for people to understand the truth, but also I think a lot of it that was fed into by the media. Look, I would hope that she would’ve wanted that corrected. And maybe in the same way that the Palace wouldn’t let anybody else negate it, they wouldn’t let her, because she’s a good person, and I think so much of what I have seen play out was this idea of polarity where if you love me you don’t have to hate her, and if you love her, you don’t need to hate me.”
